Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Philip Caulfield began his college career at Skyline College and played for the Trojans for two seasons. He then transferred to Loyola Marymount University where he completed his education in 2017. The Washington Nationals drafted him in the 32nd round of the 2017 Amateur Draft and he played in their minor league system through 2019. In his three minor league seasons, Caulfield hit .246/.315/.369 while appearing in 99 games. He then spent the next four years playing in independent leagues.
According to Caulfield's LinkedIn profile, he immediately turned to coaching after completing his playing career. From September, 2023 to May, 2024, he was an Assistant coach at Skyline College, then until the end of 2024 he was an assistant coach at the University of San Francisco[1] This information could not be verified by other sources.
The Atlanta Braves hired Caulfield to coach the DSL Braves in 2025 and Rome Emperors in 2026.
Philip is the twin brother of Thomas Caulfield and brother of Patrick Caulfield who both played baseball professionally.
