Biographical Information[edit]

Pete Redfern played for Team USA in the 1975 Pan American Games, winning a Silver Medal. A right-handed pitcher, he spent all seven seasons of his big league career with the Minnesota Twins mainly as a starter. Redfern on April 6, 1982 started for the Twins in the first regular season game played in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. He took the loss for the Twins, a 11-7 setback to the Mariners. Redfern was paralyzed in a 1983 diving accident.

His son, Chad Redfern, pitched in the Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Devil Rays systems in 2003 and 2004.
