Biographical Information[edit]
Paul Wolf was an infielder who played in the minor leagues from 1926 to 1933. He spent 1926 and 1927 with the Decatur Commodores, split 1928 between the Springfield Senators and Quincy Indians, remained with Quincy in 1929, and appeared for the Indianapolis Indians in 1930 and 1931. Wolf also played for Springfield and the Dayton Ducks in 1932, then returned to Quincy in 1933.
A native of Terre Haute, Wolf attended Wiley High School and Indiana State University. After his playing career, he returned to Indiana State as head coach of the baseball program. Wolf coached the Sycamores during the 1938-1941 and 1956-1967 seasons, compiling a 140-113-5 record. His 1957 and 1958 teams were Indiana Collegiate Champions, and the 1958 team won the Indiana NAIA title and reached the 1958 NAIA College World Series.[1]
Wolf died in Terre Haute on March 26, 1995, and was buried at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
