Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Paul Postier played in the Texas Rangers system from 1986 to 1992. Though he played at Triple-A for a whole season and part of another, he never ascended to the major leagues.

He was taken by the Rangers in the 17th round of the 1986 amateur draft, a few picks ahead of pitcher Erik Bennett, and was signed by scout Lee Anthony. He wasn't offensively gifted, posting a career average of .229, however he was versatile, spending significant time at all four infield positions, as well as in the outfield and even at pitcher. He was devoid of power, slugging just 2 home runs in 1,676 at-bats (one per 838 ABs) and 54 extra base hits (one every 31 ABs). He reached Triple-A for the first time in 1991, hitting .242/.283/.274 in 70 games for the Oklahoma City 89ers. That was the highest batting average of his career.

Overall, Postier hit .229/.274/.266 with 2 homers, 153 RBI and 383 hits in 524 games. He made 12 appearances on the mound, posting a 1-0 mark and a 2.55 ERA.
