Biographical Information[edit]
Paul DeJaynes played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.
DeJaynes was with the US when they won Silver in the 1983 World Junior Championship. [1] He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 11th round of the 1983 Amateur Draft, but he refused to sign and went to college. He represented the USA in the 1986 Amateur World Series. [2] The Minnesota Twins picked him in the 12th round of the 1986 Amateur Draft, and he had a 6.14 ERA in 3 games in 1987 for the Kenosha Twins. DeJaynes moved to the Atlanta Braves system in 1988, and he went 2-5 with a 5.80 ERA for the GCL Braves. He had a 6.52 ERA in 8 games for the Quad Cities Angels affiliated with the California Angels in 1989, and he also pitched 10 games with a 2.40 ERA for the Palm Springs Angels. That was his last season as a professional player.
