Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Paul Blair played in the minor leagues from 1984 to 1991. Though he spent part of two seasons at Triple-A, he never ascended to the majors. He is the son of major leaguer Paul Blair.

An undrafted free agent, he began his career in the San Francisco Giants system, playing there until 1989. In his rookie season, he hit .301/./345/.353 in 41 games for the Everett Giants, though he never hit better than .278 in any succeeding season. In 1988, he stole 40 bases for the San Jose Giants. In his first taste of Triple-A in 1989, he hit .235/.281/.257 in 53 games for the Phoenix Firebirds. He joined the Chicago Cubs system in 1990 and remained there into 1991 to wrap up his career.

Overall, Blair hit .253/.330/.293 with 3 home runs, 206 RBI and 97 steals in 750 games over 8 seasons. He averaged one home run every 820 at-bats.
