Northwestern Oklahoma State University began competing in the Great American Conference in 2012-2013 [1]. On July 12, 2011 Northwestern Oklahoma had been denied admittance into the NCAA Division II Membership Process for the 2011-12 cycle but a year later, on July 18, 2012, NWOSU was accepted for the 2012-2013 cycle [2].
