Biographical Information[edit]
Norietsu Saegusa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Saegusa signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1977, and he had a 4.50 ERA in 9 games that season. He went 4-2 with a 3.30 ERA in 1978, and he allowed 3 runs including Fujio Sumi's homer in the 1978 Nippon Series Game 2. The Braves lost to the Yakult Swallows in 7 games. Saegusa went 4-1 with a 5.21 ERA in 1979, and he was traded to the Chunichi Dragons for Yukitsura Matsumoto. However, he only pitched 8 games with a 3.94 ERA in 1980 before he announced his retirement in 1982.
Overall, Saegusa was 9-5 with a 4.15 ERA, struck out 66 and pitched 178 1/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
