Biographical Information[edit]
Nobuyuki Kadooka played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years. His brother Yoshinori Kadooka also played in NPB.
Kadooka signed with the Chunichi Dragons in 1962, and he pitched 53 games with a 10-10 record and a 3.00 ERA in his first season. He broke the Central League record for most appearances by a rookie straight from high school. Kadooka suffered from a shoulder injury in 1963, so his ERA rose to 5.59 in 12 games. He was 3-6 with a 3.79 ERA in 1964, and he improved to a 1.40 ERA in 25 appearances in 1965. Kadooka went 1-2 with a 3.60 ERA in 1966, and he returned to the rotation in 1967. He was 9-9 with a 3.60 ERA that season, and he had a 3-6 record with a 4.22 ERA in 1968. Kadooka went 2-3 with a 2.96 ERA in 1969, but his ERA rose to 5.48 in 14 games in 1970 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kadooka was 30-42 with a 3.46 ERA, struck out 372 and pitched 712 1/3 innings in 9 seasons in NPB.
