Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Noah Cameron had a great major league debut pitching for the Kansas City Royals against the Tampa Bay Rays on April 30, 2025. In 6 1/3 innings, he allowed just 1 hit and no runs to gain credit for a 3-0 win. In fact, he had a no-hitter until Curtis Mead hit a single with one out in the 7th inning. He was removed from the game after that, having thrown 79 pitches. He was not entirely flawless, as he did walk five batters, and he collected three strikeouts.

Cameron was drafted by the Royals in the 7th round of the 2021 amateur draft out of the University of Central Arkansas. He had grown up as a Royals fan and one of his earliest memories is coming to Kauffman Stadium with his mother at age four in 2004. He had not pitched at all in his final college season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August of 2020 - a few months after the 2020 college season had been stopped by the COVID-19 pandemic. He resumed his playing career in 2022, when he made 19 starts spread among three Royals affiliates, going 2-3, 3.56. He had a rough season in 2023, when he finished at 5-12, 5.28 between Class A and AA, although he did post a solid K/W ratio 132/35 in 107 1/3 innings. He then had a good year between the AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals and AAA Omaha Storm Chasers in 2024, ending up at 7-6, 3.08 in 25 starts and 128 2/3 innings and led Royals minor leaguers with 149 strikeouts. He started 2025 in Omaha and was 2-0, 3.22 in 5 starts before getting the call to the Show.
