Nelson Valladares (El Chivo)
Biographical Information[edit]
Nelson Valladares was on the Salvadoran national team in the 1972 Amateur World Series. [1] In the [[[1974 Central American and Caribbean Games]], he was a pitcher and corner outfielder. He hit .250/.250/.250 with two runs and one RBI in eight games, handled 12 chances error-free and had a 7.80 ERA, dropping a 2-0 decision to José Viera and Venezuela and 9-8 to James McNamara of the United States Virgin Islands national baseball team. He led El Salvador in IP (15), was second in strikeouts (7, one behind Jaime Galeano) and was third in ERA (after Galeano and Ricardo Imendia). He tied Carlos Julio Pérez for the top fielding at pitcher (9 TC, 0 E - he also turned 2 double plays there, the most of anyone who fielded 1.000 at P). [2]
