Biographical Information[edit]
Naoki Enomoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Enomoto won 4 straight MVPs in the Aichi University Baseball League, and he led Chukyo Universityto the title of the 1970 All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series. He was 36-7 with a 1.15 ERA in his college career. The Yakult Swallows picked him in the 2nd round of the 1971 NPB draft, and he only pitched 4 games in 1972. Enomoto went 5-4 with a 2.71 ERA in 1973, and he slumped to 0-2 with a 6.38 ERA in 1974. He recorded a 4.09 ERA in 10 games in 1975, and he pitched 22 games with a 4.65 ERA in 1976. The Swallows then traded him to the Hiroshima Carp for Kazunori Seto, but he allowed 3 runs in 3 innings in 1977 and he announced his retirement in 1978.
Overall, Enomoto was 7-9 with a 3.56 ERA, struck out 112 and pitched 225 1/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
