Biographical Information[edit]

Myles Naylor is the brother of Josh Naylor and of Bo Naylor; he is also a cousin of Denzel Clarke. Like his two older siblings, he was drafted in the first round of the Amateur Draft, being picked 39th overall by the Oakland Athletics in Competitive Balance Round A of the 2023 amateur draft; that made him the final pick of the supplemental first round of that year's draft. Josh had been a first-rounder in 2015 and Bo in 2018. He attended the same high school in Mississauga, ON as his two brothers, and like them signed after being drafted, foregoing college; in Myles case, he had a commitment to attend Texas Tech University. The Naylors were the second trio of brothers to all be selected in the first round, after J.D. Drew, Tim Drew and Stephen Drew a couple of decades earlier.

In his first professional season in 2023, he played two games for the ACL Athletics and 32 with the Stockton Ports of the California League, batting .214 with 6 homers and 17 RBIs. On defence, he played shortstop. He was back in Stockton in 2024, where he hit .192/.321/.322 in 116 games, with 11 homers and 58 RBIs. The Athletics were not thrilled with this and had him repeat the level in 2025, while also moving him to third base defensively. Things did not improve as in 81 games, he hit .185/.319/.307 with 7 homers and 37 RBIs.

Like his two older brothers, Myles played in the Baseball Canada program, first suiting up for the Canadian junior national team in 2021. He played for Canada in the 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup, hitting .471/.625/.706 with 6 walks and 6 RBI in 8 games, fielding .850 at the hot corner. He was 3rd in average (behind Aidan Miller and Yael Romero), 2nd in OBP (.018 behind Miller), tied Bryce Eldridge for 3rd in slugging and 3rd in OPS (after Miller and Eldridge). Dae-seon Jeong beat him out as the All-Star third baseman.
