Biographical Information[edit]

Mizuki Tsuchida pitched for the Nagasaki Saints from 2008 to 2010, and he moved to the Ehime Mandarin Pirates in 2011. He was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 2nd round of the development phase in the 2011 NPB draft, and he stayed in the minors in his first two seasons. Tsuchida also pitched 8 games with a 0.75 ERA for the Leones de Ponce after the 2013 season, and he made his NPB debut on May 14, 2014 against the Yakult Swallows. He only used one pitch to retire Kazuya Fujita of the Rakuten Golden Eagles on June 15, and he was the first Giants player to get his first career win with one pitch (only Masaki Hayashi had done it before in the Central League). Tsuchida's ERA was 7.71 in 12 games in his first season, and he recorded a 6.39 ERA in 11 appearances in 2015. He only pitched 8 1/3 innings in 2016, and he announced his retirement in 2017.
