Biographical Information[edit]
Mitsuro Kondo played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Kondo signed with the Nishitetsu Lions in 1960, and he went 7-6 with a 4.25 ERA in 43 appearances in his first season. He was 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA in 1961, and he pitched 16 games with a 3.75 ERA in 1962. Kondo then went to the Chunichi Dragons, and he had a 4.50 ERA in 7 games in 1963. He then went 1-2 with a 4.57 ERA in 1964, and he recorded a 3.15 ERA with a 4-8 record in a career-high 50 appearances in 1965. Kondo was 2-2 with a 2.65 ERA in 1966, but he only pitched one game in 1967 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kondo was 17-18 with a 3.73 ERA, struck out 311 and pitched 427 1/3 innings in 8 seasons in NPB.
