Biographical Information[edit]
Mitsuo Kitaura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Kitaura signed with the Tokyo Senators when they were founded in 1936, and he went 10-for-67 in the spring season. He had a .220/.403/.254 batting line in the fall season, and he hit .242/.365/.355 with 7 doubles in the 1937 spring season. Kitaura went 6-for-22 in the fall season, and his batting line was .244/.322/.275 in 35 games in the 1938 spring season. He then batted .229/.339/.260 in 30 games in the fall season, and he had a 15-for-57 record in 1939. After missing three seasons, Kitaura joined the Nishitetsu club in 1943. He was 5-for-21 that season, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kitaura hit .231/.348/.279 with 133 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
