Biographical Information[edit]
Mitsukuni Takeda played in the Nippon Pro Baseball and Korea Baseball Organization.
Takeda was 21-9 with a 2.63 ERA in the Tokyo Big6 Baseball League, and he won two best nine awards. He was drafted by the Taiyo Whales, Chunichi Dragons and the Yomiuri Giants in the first round of the 1984 NPB draft; the Whales won the lottery for the rights to him. He pitched 32 games with a 3.88 ERA in 1986, but he only got one appearance in 1987. He pitched 7 games with a 4.00 ERA in 1988, and the Whales released him. Takeda then signed with the Samsung Lions of KBO, and he had a 10.59 ERA in 9 games in 1989. His ERA was 9.19 in 7 games in 1990, and he announced his retirement.
