Biographical Information[edit]
Mitsuhiko Matsumoto signed with the Nagoya Kinko club in 1937, and he was 1-2 with a 7.20 ERA in the spring season. He was 0-4 with a 4.28 ERA in the fall season, and he was turned into an catcher. Matsumoto hit .214/.353/.226 in 25 games in the 1938 spring season, and he had a .242/.342/.379 batting line in the fall season. He was 8-for-50 in 1939, and he hit .218/322/.308 in 1940. Matsumoto also pitched 17 innings with a 0.53 ERA in '40, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Matsumoto hit .208/.318/.273 with 71 hits in 6 seasons in NPB. He was 2-6 with a 4.79 ERA as a pitcher.
