Biographical Information[edit]

Miguel Zoroza played for the Spanish national team.

He hit .176/.263/.176 and fielded .867 in the 1995 European Championship but stole 5 bases in 6 tries, enabling him to score 5 times in 10 games. He tied Marcel Joost for 7th in the Euros in swipes. [1] In the 1995 Intercontinental Cup, he batted .273/.333/.273 and fielded .778 in right, going 1-for-1 in steals. He tied Javier Zabalza for the team lead in hits (3) and led their regulars in average. [2] He posted a .643 average and .714 slugging when Spain got the Bronze in the 1997 European Championship but did not lead in average as Tonny Verhaert and Johnny Balentina were higher. [3] Backing up Manuel Martinez, he was 0 for 9 with two walks in the 1997 Intercontinental Cup, handling two putouts in left. [4]
