Michal Šindelka has played in the Extraliga and for the Czech national team.
He hit .364/.588/.818 with 5 runs, 6 walks and 7 RBI in 7 games when the Czechs won Bronze in the 2022 U18 European Championship. He would've been 6th in slugging had he qualified. [1] Debuting in the Extraliga in the playoffs, he was 0 for 1 with a walk and a run for the champion Draci Brno club. [2] He came to the US to play for PDG Baseball Academy around this time while doing his high school work online. [3] In the 2023 European Champions Cup, he was 2 for 11 with two walks, 3 steals and a RBI. [4] In the Extraliga regular season, he was at .292/.370/.292 followed by a .233/.333/.267 postseason as his team repeated as champs. [5] During the 2023 U-18 Baseball World Cup, he had the only Czech run against South Korea, against Taiwan and against Mexico then scored 3 times in their win over Venezuela. He finished at .304/.370/.435 with 7 runs in 7 games, trailing only MVP Ren Ogata and Tong-keon Yeo in runs. [6]
Šindelka batted .364/.385/.455 when Brno won the 2024 European Champions Cup. [7] In the summer, he slashed .319/.400/.553 in the regular season and .400/.500/.567 with 12 runs in 9 playoff games as Draci Brno made it a three-peat. For the year as a whole, he was 3rd in average (behind Jakub Malík and Alex Monsalve), 4th in OBP (between Martin Červenka and Šimon Tuček), 7th in slugging (between Keibert Petit and Červenka) and 4th in OPS (between Malík and Červenka). [8] He was with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the MLB Draft League for part of 2025, producing at a .275/.405/.341 rate. He was the team's third-youngest player and furthest from home. [9] With Draci Brno for part of the summer, he hit .356/.444/.600, not playing enough to make any leaderboards, then fell to .222/.300/.278 in the playoffs but his team prevailed again. [10] He absolutely dominated the 2025 U23 European Championship at .643/.737/.929 with 8 RBI in 5 games for the #2 Czechs. He beat out Gedionne Marlin by .024 for the batting title, led in OBP (.070 ahead of Marlin), trailed only Raphael Smeenk in slugging, led in OPS, tied for 6th in runs (5) and tied for 3rd in RBI. [11] That earned him a spot on their team for the 2025 European Championship; the 19-year-old was not a bench warmer either. In their opener, he hit 3rd and played right field against Germany, striking out against AAA veteran Markus Solbach his first time up. He spent most of the tourney starting in left. His first hit came off Jorge Balboa of defending champion Spain, driving in Milan Prokop in the 3rd with the first run of a romp. He was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run in their Bronze Medal Game win over Spain, giving the Czechs their first medal in a men's European Championship. He finished the Euros 3-for-20 with 6 walks, a double, 3 runs and 4 RBI; he had 11 putouts, one assist and no errors in the field. He tied for 6th in walks. [12]
