Matjaz Peternel
Matjaz Peternel was on the first Slovenian national team in a European Championship, the 1995 European Championship. He debuted against Italy, replacing Elvir Sadikovic at catcher. His first plate apperance was against Sweden; he was retired by Magnus Höglund, who threw a no-hitter that day. His first hit came off Russia's Rinat Makhmutov. He finished 3-for-7 with a walk, double and RBI and was caught stealing twice. He had 10 chances error-free. [1]
