Biographical Information

Masato Hamasaki signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1963, and he only pitched 3 games combined in his first three seasons. He had a 3.31 ERA in 26 appearances in 1966, but his ERA was 8.18 in 10 games in 1967. Hamasaki allowed 6 runs in 5 2/3 innings in 1968, and he only got 3 appearances in the next two seasons. The Hanshin Tigers then picked him in the active draft, but he didn't reach the top team in 1971 and he announced his retirement.
