Biographical Information[edit]
Masashi Chikazawa was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 3rd round of the 2000 NPB draft, and he only got 2 at-bats before he was assigned to the Rakuten Golden Eagles as the Buffaloes merged with the Orix BlueWave. Chikazawa didn't reach the big club in 2005, and he was released. He then hit .277/.410/.554 in 24 games for the Reno Silver Sox in 2006 while backing up Marcus Jensen at catcher, and his batting line was .260/.331/.415 in 2007. Chikazawa announced his retirement after the 2007 season.
