Biographical Information

Masaru Yamaoka signed with the Yomiuri Giants in 1979, and he only pitched 2 games combined before the Giants traded him with Kenji Awaguchi to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Shuzo Arita. Yamaoka had a 6.14 ERA in 10 games in 1986, but he never reached the big club again before he announced his retirement in 1991.
