Biographical Information[edit]
Masanori Fujihara represented Japan in the 2008 World University Baseball Championship (5.79 ERA for the Silver Medalists; he did team with Shingo Tatsumi and Masahiro Inui on a no-hitter versus Lithuania) and 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week (0-1, 33.75, losing to the USA's Stephen Strasburg). He was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 2nd round the 2009 NPB draft, and he had a 3.60 ERA in 24 appearances in 2010. He pitched 19 games with a 3.09 ERA in 2011, but he then allowed 3 runs in 3 2/3 innings in 2012. Fujihara pitched 12 1/3 shutout innings for the Canberra Cavalry in the 2012-2013 ABL, and he had a 1.32 ERA in 10 games in 2013. However, he didn't reach the big club in the next two seasons and he announced his retirement in 2015.
