Biographical Information[edit]

Masaki Mimori has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Mimori was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Kazuhide Sakuyama. He spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he hit .208/.255/.333 in 24 games for the top team in 2019. He also played 27 games with a .116/.174/.163 batting line for the Gigantes de Carolina in winter. Mimori then went 7-for-43 in 2020, and he was named the starting second baseman of the Hawks in 2021. He collected 16 steals with a .249/.272/.313 batting line that season, and he was 7th in steals in the Pacific League (between Gakuto Wakabayashi and Taisei Makihara) and 3rd in triples (6, 1 behind Yuma Mune and Sosuke Genda).

The Saitama native extended his solid performance in 2022, and he hit .257/.309/.379 with 20 steals in 102 games, only being caught stealing three times. He was 8th in triples (4, 5 behind Keita Nakagawa) and 5th in steals (between Hiroto Kobukata and Haruki Nishikawa). Mimori then recorded a .260/.289/.351 batting line with 14 steals in 2023, and he was 7th in steals (22 behind Kobukata and Ukyo Shuto). However, he suffered from a left finger injury, so he only played 25 games with a .288/.329/.364 batting line in 2024. The Hawks then traded him to the Yokohama BayStars for Haruhiro Hamaguchi.
