Biographical Information

Masahide Kaizuka played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.

Kaizuka was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 5th round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he hit .196/.236/.245 in 70 games in 2000. He went 3-for-13 in 2001, and he hit .302/.330/.384 in 33 games in 2002. Kaizuka only got 12 at-bats in 2003, and he had his career year in 2004. He hit .307/.360/.497 with 27 doubles in 112 games, and he was 9th in doubles in the Pacific League (tied with Yoshitomo Tani, Hirotoshi Kitagawa and Hiroshi Shibahara). Kaizuka played 70 games with a .260/.339/.360 batting line in 2005, and he slumped to .150/.190/.150 in 2006. He was 5-for-33 in 2007, and he announced his retirement in 2008.

Overall, Kaizuka hit .268/.321/.394 with 214 hits and 17 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
