Biographical Information[edit]
Masafumi Kinoshita played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Kinoshita signed with the Eagles club in 1938, and he went 4-for-25 in the spring season. He only got 7 at-bats in the fall season, and he hit .164/.219/.229 in 1939. Kinoshita then recorded a .176/.246/.233 batting line in 1940, and he played 82 games with a .179/.224/.247 batting line in 1941. He was turned from a third baseman into a catcher in 1942, and his batting line was .141/.212/.199 in 104 games. Kinoshita was 3-for-36 in 1943, and he joined the Chubu Nihon Dragons after World War II. However, he hit .195/.252/.280 in 1946 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kinoshita hit .162/.222/.223 with 214 hits and 13 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
