Mary Dunn

From BR Bullpen

Mary Dunn was the wife of Jack Dunn, long-time owner, president and manager of the minor league Baltimore Orioles. When he died in 1928, his widow inherited ownership of the team, and named Charles Knapp, who had been her husband's personal attorney, as team President. Knapp quickly accumulated power, being concurrently named President of the International League, while Mary was a passive owner. However, when Knapp died in 1936, she was forced to take a more active role, assuming the presidency of the team. She remained the team's principal until her death in 1943, when her grandson, Jack Dunn III succeeded her.
