Biographical Information[edit]

'Marv Peasley pitched a couple of games for the Detroit Tigers in 1910. He was three years younger than teammate Ty Cobb. Peasley was obtained from the Woodstock, NB team and was scouted by Malachi Kittridge. According to Wild Bill Donovan, as quoted in the Macon (GA) Telegraph of April 2, 1911, after the 1910 season Peasley "went up into the woods as soon as the snow fell and worked with an axe all winter." The winter-long workout "tied him up so tight he can hardly throw a ball and may never amount to anything as a pitcher again."

The Flint Journal of May 11, 1911 mentions a brief stop with the Fort Worth Panthers at the start of the 1911 season and a tryout with the Saginaw Krazy Kats in May of that year.
