Biographical Information[edit]

Manny Garcia played in the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league system from 2008-2010. During his career, he was both a catcher (2008) and a pitcher (2009-2010), giving him an unique perspective for his forthcoming coaching career.

Garcia returned to the Dbacks in 2015 as an assistant pitching coach for the DSL Diamondbacks. He spent the next three seasons as a pitching coach for the AZL Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks promoted him to pitching coach of the Missoula Osprey in 2019. He was scheduled to return to the newly renamed Missoula PaddleHeads in 2020 before the minor league season shut down due to COVID-19. In 2021, Garcia was a pitching coach for the DSL Diamondbacks 1. He also coached the Dominican national team in the 2021 Americas Olympic Qualifier and Tokyo Olympics, winning Bronze. He stepped away from on-field coaching in 2022 when he served as the Dbacks' Minor League Short-Season Pitching Coordinator. He continued in this role through 2024.

The Athletics hired Garcia as a coach for the DSL Athletics in 2025-2026.

Garcia also has coaching experience in the winter Dominican League. He was a bullpen coach for the Estrellas Orientales in 2017/2018. The team promoted him to pitching coach in 2018/2019. Garcia then spent the 2020/2021 - 2022/2023 seasons as pitching coach of the Águilas Cibaeñas. He took on a new role in 2023/2024 as General Manager for Estrellas. Garcia returned to Águilas in 2024/2025, this time as manager. Things did not go well and he was fired on October 28th after a 2-7 start and replaced by Yadier Molina. The Eastern Stars brought him back in 2025/2026 as their pitching coach.
