Biographical Information[edit]
Maddie Erwin debuted for Australia in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup. She debuted in a 16-8 loss to Mexico. Replacing Meaghan Haggart to close it out, she entered with the bases loaded and a 11-8 deficit. She yielded a sac fly to Edith De Leija and a RBI single to Denise Pérez. Rosa del Castillo hit into a force but Diana Ibarra smacked a three-run homer before Erwin retired Marlen Lagunes. Her other outing went better. Starting versus Hong Kong, she struck out Wing-Hin Ng to open the day and allowed two hits, two walks and two unearned runs in 3 1/3 IP; Maddison Tabrett relieved with a 2-0 deficit but Australia rallied to win.
