Biographical Information[edit]

Lun Zhao pitched in the minor leagues and for the Chinese national team.

Zhao signed with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018 (the scout was Taylor Green) [1], and he had a 2.25 ERA in 3 games for the Helena Brewers while pitching 4 1/3 innings for the AZL Brewers. He missed the next season due to injuries, and the minor leagues were shut down because of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Zhao's ERA was 1.04 in 6 games for the 2021 ACL Brewers Gold, but he struggled with the Salt River Rafters as he had a 5.14 ERA in 7 games in the fall.

He pitched an inning for the Carolina Mudcats in 2022, but he allowed 4 runs and the Brewers released him after that season. Zhao was on China's roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, and he relieved Jian Yi in the 4th inning against pool champion Colombia. Zhao retired Francisco Acuña, forced Michael Arroyo to ground out then struck out Harold Ramírez. He then walked Reynaldo Rodríguez, allowed a single to Gio Urshela and loaded the bases with a walk to Jair Camargo; Wei Zhao relieved him and let two of the inherited runners score. [2]
