Biographical Information[edit]
Luis Juan Ruiz was on the Spanish national team that took Bronze in the 1991 European Championship. [1] He was their second-youngest player in the 1991 Intercontinental Cup, ahead of only Xavier Civit. He debuted as a mop-up man, closing out Xavier Camps's loss to champion Cuba by allowing 3 runs in 1 1/3 IP. He finished with a 7.88 ERA in four contests, tying for the team lead in appearances with Camps, Juan Damborenea and Gabriel Valarezo. He had the 3rd-best ERA on a team with a 9.59 ERA overall, trailing only ace Félix Cano and Valarezo. [2]
