She debuted in 1948 and went 4-4 with a 4.06 ERA. In 1949, she was 3-2 with a 2.27 ERA in 16 games. She allowed no runs in five postseason innings. Her record for 1950 is unknown. She had her best season in 1951, going 10-2 with a 2.62 ERA, as well as throwing a one-hitter. She tied teammate Dorothy Mueller for the league lead in winning percentage. She allowed one run in five innings in the finals as South Bend beat the Rockford Peaches for the title; she saw limited work as Jean Faut carried the load for South Bend. In 1952, Louise wrapped up her career with a 4-8, 3.43 campaign. In the finals, she pitched one shutout inning as Faut again led the Blue Sox past the Peaches. Overall, Arnold was 23-16 with a 3.02 ERA in 72 regular season games in the AAGPBL and tossed 11 shutout innings (just two hits allowed) with no decisions in the postseason.
