Lew Camp was the brother of Kid Camp. Lew was named after Robert Plantagenet (European royalty), while Kid was named after General Winfield Scott. Lew played three years in the majors (1892-1894), appearing in 88 games and playing mostly third base, with some additional action in the middle infield. Lew and Kid were teammates on the 1894 Chicago Colts, both men playing their last major league game on May 8. Lew's minor league career ran from 1888 to 1901 and he managed in part of the 1901 season with the Evansville River Rats.
