Leroy Taylor was an outfielder in the Negro Leagues. He debuted as a backup with the Chicago American Giants in 1925. In 1926, he moved to the Indianapolis ABCs. He was with the Kansas City Monarchs from 1928 through 1930, hitting .134, .346 and .290 in his three years. In 1929, he led the Negro National League with 31 steals and tied for third with 10 triples.
Taylor bounced around with three clubs in 1932 then spent a year with the Detroit Stars. In 1934, he hit .333 for the Cleveland Red Sox and also spent some time with the Monarchs. Taylor appeared in the 1936 East-West Game, replacing Frog Redus, going 0 for 1, then being replaced by Lou Dials.
