Biographical Information[edit]
Laban Dean pitched in the Brooklyn Dodgers system beginning in 1943 and ending in 1954. He had two seasons of particular note. In 1950, with the Miami Sun Sox, he went 24-11 with 21 complete games, 8 shutouts and a 1.90 ERA in 49 games. He led the Florida International League in victories. A couple years later, back with Miami, he went 16-9 with 16 complete games, 6 shutouts and a 1.69 ERA in 32 games. Per records available, he had at least 93 wins and 67 losses overall.
He served in the US Navy during World War II.
