Biographical Information

Kotaro Seimiya has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Seimiya was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the first round of the development phase in the 2018 NPB draft. He pitched 8 2/3 shutout innings in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2020, then he underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the entire 2021 season. Seimiya allowed 8 runs in 4 2/3 innings in the minors in 2022, and he notched 22 saves with a 4.00 ERA in 2023. He led the Eastern League in saves. Seimiya made his NPB debut on April 14 against the Chiba Lotte Marines, but he surrendered 4 runs in 3 innings for the top team in 2024. His ERA was 6.23 in 35 relief outings in the minors, and he was released. The Nippon Ham Fighters signed him, and he pitched 20 games with a 4.18 ERA in the minors in 2025.
