Biographical Information[edit]
Kotaro Egawa signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1955, and he was 0-for-10 in his first season. Egawa hit .190/.267/.248 in 57 games in 1956 while backing up Mitsuo Yoneyama at short, and he played 79 games with a .230/.248/.268 batting line in 1957, starting at third base. He recorded a .208/.222/.226 batting line in 1958, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Egawa hit .210/.249/.249 with 80 hits in 4 seasons in NPB.
