Biographical Information[edit]
Mitsuo Yoneyama played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Yoneyama signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1953, and he went 6-for-26 in 1954. He was named Hiroshima's starting shortstop in 1955, and he played 96 games with a .190/.244/.227 batting line. Yoneyama struggled again at the plate as he hit .144/.231/.180 in 1956, and he had a .209/.332/.280 batting line in 78 games in 1957. He improved to .242/.331/.318 in 1958, and he batted .220/.326/.327 in 1959. Yoneyama played 100 games with a .235/.333/.299 batting line in 1960, and he slumped to .174/.268/.174 in 1961 then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Yoneyama hit .203/.294/.261 with 270 hits and 8 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
