Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kolby Allard was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the first round of the 2015 amateur draft with the 14th overall pick. He made his pro debut that summer with the GCL Braves, allowing just 1 hit and no runs while striking out 12 in 6 innings of work.

He was called up to Atlanta for the first time on July 31, 2018 after going 6-4, 2.80 in 18 starts for the Gwinnett Stripers of the International League. In his debut, he benefited from 19 hits from his teammates as the Braves beat the Miami Marlins, 11-6. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 5 innings. He only made 2 more appearances for the Braves that season, both in relief, and ended at 1-1, 12.38, pitching 8 innings. He only made 1 more start for Gwinnett before being shut down for the rest of the season. He started 2019 back with the Stripers and was 7-5, 4.17 after 20 starts when on July 30th he was traded to the Texas Rangers in return for reliever Chris Martin.
