Biographical Information[edit]
Koichi Yasui signed with the Toei Flyers in 1950, and he hit .280/.316/.436 in 87 games in his first season. He played 55 games with a .253/.295/.333 batting line in 1951, and he announced his retirement. Yasui later managed the Flyers in 1955, but they finished 7th and he was replaced by Yoshiyuki Iwamoto. He later managed Toei's minors team from 1957 to 1960, and he was their interim manager for 57 games in '60. Yasui jumped to the Taiyo Whales as their coach from 1961 to 1962, and he was their scout from 1963 to 1964. He also coached the Kintetsu Buffaloes from 1965 to 1967.
Overall, Yasui hit .272/.310/.406 with 93 hits and 10 homers in 2 seasons in NPB.
