Biographical Information[edit]
Koichi Nishimura was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the first round of the second 1966 NPB draft. He was 0-for-10 in 1967, then he went 2-for-18 in 1968. Nishimura recorded a .182/.182/.364 batting line in 1969, then he had a 2-for-13 record in 1970. He played a career-high 52 games with a .168/.259/.218 batting line in 1971, but he went 1-for-6 games in 1972 then he announced his retirement in 1973. He later became a pro golf player. Nishimura's brother Kazunori Nishimura won the 1955 Central League NPB Rookie of the Year.
