Biographical Information

Kodai Matsumoto was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 8th round of the 2006 NPB draft, and he had a 5.17 ERA in 18 appearances in 2008 as a LOOGY. He allowed 9 runs in 2 2/3 innings in 2009, and he pitched 10 games with a 11.57 ERA in 2010. Matsumoto only pitched 3 more games for the big club before the Marines released him in 2012, and he signed with the Orix Buffaloes. However, he surrendered 11 runs in 8 innings in 2013, and he announced his retirement.
