Biographical Information[edit]
Kiyoshi Sei played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Sei signed with the Nagoya Kinko club in 1936, and he was 6-for-25 in the spring season. He hit .125/.286/.150 in the fall season, and he bounced back with a .266/.355/.422 batting line and 3 homers in the 1937 spring season. Sei tied Saburo Nakamura for 2nd in homers in the Japanese Professional Baseball League and 4th in triples (6, tied with Masanobu Yamaguchi). He then crushed 3 homers again with a .201/.328/.336 batting line in the fall season, and he led the league with 37 strikeouts. His batting line was .209/.359/.270 in the 1938 spring season, and he hit .197/.370/.283 in the fall season. Sei played 96 games with a .177/.301/.216 batting line in 1939, and he announced his retirement after hitting .231/.375/.308 in 1940.
Overall, Sei hit .205/.334/.292 with 195 hits and 9 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
