Biographical Information[edit]
Kinya Maeoka signed with the Osaka Tigers in 1956, and he had a 2.37 ERA in 5 games in his first season. He went 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 1957, and he had a 4.82 ERA in 9 games in 1959. Maeoka had a 6.00 ERA in 6 appearances in 1960, and he was traded to the Chunichi Dragons for cash. His ERA was 3.18 in 8 games in 1961, and he was turned into an outfielder. Maeoka only got 3 at-bats combined in the next two seasons, and he was 3-for-11 in 51 games in 1964 (he often pinch-ran, scoring 9 runs and going 8-for-12 in steals) then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Maeoka went 1-4 with a 4.17 ERA, struck out 61 and pitched 108 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
