Biographical Information[edit]
Kiichiro Shimizu signed with the Senators in 1946, and he hit .185/.305/.214 in 59 games in his first season. He recorded a .190/.270/.238 batting line for the Tokyu Flyers in 1947, and he was released. His manager Hisanori Karita promised that if he successfully persuaded his classmate Yoshiharu Ogawa to join the Flyers, then he could stay with the team. However, Ogawa went to the Daiei Stars, and Shimizu's professional career ended. He jumped into the Tamagawa Aqueduct to commit suicide in 1964.
