Kenya Nagasaka has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Nagasaka hit .285 with 2 Best Nine awards in his college career, and he was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 7th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Minoru Kasai. [1] He hit .173/.227/.240 in 71 games in 2017 in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he also played one game for the top team. Nagasaka improved to .257/.354/.311 in 2018, but he was 1-for-8 with the top team. He recorded a .219/.298/.281 batting line in 63 games in the minors in 2019, and he only got one at-bat for the big club. In that at-bat, Nagasaka crushed his first career homer against Aren Kuri. Nagasaka then crushed a homer against Takahiro Matsuba in 2020, and he was the first player in NPB history to hit a homer in back-to-back at-bats in different years. He ended up having a 2-for-5 record for the big club. Nagasaka played 66 games with a .212/.311/.248 batting line in 2021 in the minors, but he didn't get a chance with the big club. When regular catcher Ryutaro Umeno missed some games in 2022, Nagasaka returned to the big club and he went 7-for-40 in 27 games. He only got 13 at-bats combined for the top team in the next three seasons.
