Biographical Information

Kenta Chatani has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Chatani was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2015 NPB draft, the scout was Hisao Arakane. However, he only played one game for Softbank's top team, and he was released in 2018. The Chiba Lotte Marines signed him, and he was 1-for-17 in 2020. He stayed in the minors in 2021, and he finally got some chances in 2022 after he hit .316 in the minors. Chatani played 57 games with a .248/.322/.321 batting line in 2022, and he improved to .284/.333/.331 in 79 games as Chiba Lotte's main infield utility man. Chatani slumped to .167/.176/.181 in 88 games in 2024 (72 at-bats), and he recorded a .222/.282/.278 batting line in 43 games in 2025.
